Ryan Finn joined MetroAir as a pilot on December 14, 2007 and became part of the MetroAir staff by achieving the position of Operations Coordinator on July 2, 2008. In the 6 months prior to becoming a staff member, Ryan had accrued 48 pireps and logged over 113 hours flying for MetroAir alone. His favorite aircraft to fly in the MetroAir fleet is the Airbus A319.

Having been a lifelong avid aviation enthusiast, Ryan has owned and used every version of Microsoft Flight Simulator since FS95. His virtual airline career, however, did not begin until 2003, when he joined Air Florida Virtual Airlines as a new pilot. Ryan only logged about 15 hours with Air Florida when he suddenly grew the desire to create and manage his own virtual airline. Over the next four years, Ryan created three virtual airlines, each more successful than its predecessor. Ryan acted as founder and CEO of SunAir Virtual Airlines in 2004, Global Star Virtual Airlines from 2005 to 2007, and EastJet Virtual Airways in 2007. Having decided it was too much work and that he simply did not have the time to devote to running a virtual airline, Ryan went back to being a pilot, and applied to MetroAir in December, 2007. By the time he applied to MetroAir, Ryan had logged over 200 hours of virtual airline flight time.

Outside of flight simming, Ryan is a real-world pilot with over 250 hours is his logbook. He holds a commercial pilot license with instrument and multi-engine ratings. He is currently working on obtaining his CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) license. He also holds an Associate's Degree in Aviation Science and is currently attending his third year as a college student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. He aspires to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Science in 2010 and enter a career as a professional pilot (airline or corporate).

Ryan was born and raised in the scenic Hudson Valley area of New York, calling the small town of Fishkill his home (roughly 65 miles north of New York City). Apart from aviation altogether, he also enjoys playing and watching ice hockey (he is a goalie), amateur film-making, photography, and traveling.

Only a few weeks after achieving his staff position at MetroAir, Ryan had to step down as Operations Coordinator due to personal reasons and a heavy workload at the beginning of the school semester. He continues to fly as a virtual pilot for MetroAir and hopes to someday possibly re-join the MetroAir staff.
