General

Redding Municipal Airport is a public airport located six miles (10 km) southeast of the central business district of Redding, a city in Shasta County, California. The airport covers 1,750 acres and has two runways and one helipad. It is mostly used for general aviation, but is also served by two commercial airlines. Aircraft maintenance, aircraft rental, charter flights, instruction, fuel, avionics and transient aircraft parking are among the many other services offered at the Airport.

The City of Redding is looking into transforming Redding Muncipal Airport into possibly Redding International Airport. The airport now imposes a $4.50 fee for expansion of the terminal, rehabilitation of two taxiways, and a better safety buffer. The airport needs to raise at least $10.8 million for these projects. The amount of passengers has increased due to the Horizon flight to Los Angeles. There are now rumors of a United Airlines Express service to Denver and a Delta Connection service to Salt Lake City.

Gate Assignment

MetroAir currently operates out of the main terminal At KRDD.
