Kevin Smith
From MetroAirWiki
Kevin W. Smith joined MetroAir in June of 2007 after nearly a 3 year hiatus from the flight sim community. Since joining MetroAir, Kevin has held three different positions within staff. He started as a Scheduling Assistant then moved on to the huge opportunity of managing the Detroit Hub. Most recently, Kevin was elected to take over the Human Resources Department after Del Steel moved into Executive Management as the CFO.
He has been a flight simulator enthusiast since back in the early 90's and an avid VATSIMmer since 2003. He was the co-founder and COO of Carnival Virtual Airlines in 2003 and 2004, which quickly rose to VATSIM Partner VA status before mitigating circumstances forced the closure. Kevin came back to flight simming with a new vigor and interest and one of the first things he did was investigate the numerous VA offerings within the community. MetroAir stood out by far.
When not flying or accepting new applicants to MetroAir, he enjoys grilling out, motorcycling and generally just enjoying life. In the hard reality of life Kevin is employed in the Defense Contracting industry after a lengthy career in the US Army.
