James Denney
From MetroAirWiki
James joined MetroAir not long after its official launch in January 2006. He spent his time rising through the pilot categories, and amassing some of his first serious hours on VATSIM. He was suprisingly approached by management to apply for, and was selected to the hub manager position in December of 2006. Since then, James has successfully met the challenges of hub management, accepting the request of the senior team in the summer of 2007 to head up our newest hub in Ontario where he remains at present.
If James had the choice, he would have been born with wings. Instead, his love for aviation grew from the influence of his father, who was a navigator in the Air Force, and his grandfather, who worked in maintenance for Delta Air Lines in the 1930's. His dream was to play college football and fly F-15's for the U.S. Air Force. When that didn't transpire, he settled for Madden and Microsoft Flight Simulator instead. He received a degree in Aerospace Engineering from ERAU-Daytona, and is currently employed by the U.S. Navy designing rocket sleds for testing. He enjoys hiking, fishing, beer brewing, rugby, football, barbecues, and black and white photography. James' new dream, besides being called to the cockpit on a commercial flight when the pilots suddenly were ill, is to have his photographic work featured in a show and, heaven forbid, actually sell a print to someone who likes his photos.
