MetroAir Events

MetroAir frequently holds online events in order to help increase participation and bring our community together. Not only are event's fun and a way to meet your fellow pilots but they are also a great way to build hours as participation in events is usually considered "Overtime" by the company and result in bonus hours being applied to your flight.

Current Events

Friday Night Lights
This was a regular event that was started by former Events Coordinator Jason Mlot. Originally the event was held every week at a different airport that MetroAir serviced. The program was discontinued for a time and the Events Coordinator position was left vacant. In April of 2007 the program was briefly restarted under the then, events coordinator Vince Novak. Friday Night Lights is currently suspended while the planning, execution and popularity of events can be developed further by the management team.
New Aircraft Flyins
These events usually occur as we get new aircraft types in our fleet. The initial ferry will usually be done online and a Flyin Event will be arranged at KDTW to welcome the new aircraft into service. Most recently, we had a very successful event to mark the arrival of our first Boeing 747-200B, Piloted by our very own founder, Mark McCoy.
